“Closed door” does not mean closed business

A good example gives very good ideas. Thanks to information and communication technologies (ICT) we carry out our activity through the telework, we have only changed the office to the home. This methodology is working very well for us and our performance continues at 100%. The main actions we take are:

  • Inform customers: you come first, therefore, our main job is to inform you so that you can rest assured and know that we are there for what you need.
  • Presence online: have a website, whether it's a e-commerce for sale online or one one page with contact information, and no matter how simple it is, it helps us not to disappear from the map. We also have operational campaigns helping our sales team.
  • Forward the phone: we have a system that directs calls from our switchboard to a main mobile phone, which can be diverted to the personal device without revealing the number, thus answering calls with complete normality and privacy for the worker.
  • Have constant communication with the client and the team: we stay informed through video conferences, text messages WhatsApp with the computer application and our own email available via webmail, or in the email manager itself. We have created redirects to simplify the number of emails and people needed.
  • Access our files remotely: we have and share all the files and data on our own (and secure) physical server, which we can connect to from anywhere in the world and which is updated by everyone. We don't miss a single one, and always the latest version!
  • Having a platform online to manage tasks: Through applications like Asana and Everhour, in our case, we control the completion of tasks and the time we dedicate to them. This way, everyone can see the open projects, what they need to do and by when.
  • Keep regular communication channels active: The activity does not stop, we need to communicate it so that everyone knows that we are continuing. There will be a downturn but, as in any crisis, those of us who are most present and prepared will be the first to come out of it.

  • Update yourself: Your platforms need to be updated as the world changes. Modify designs, texts, styles… Now is the best time to be prepared: it allows you to make the modifications without a lot of exposure and with time to prepare for what's to come.
  • Be ready for the return to normality: The best opportunities can come after a crisis. Make sure you are ready, with a good strategy and all the necessary communication pieces, and you will have a positive impact on the comeback.
  • Evaluate the results: It is just as important to carry out strategies as to do the subsequent analysis, to see what we have achieved and look for more performance. It is about capitalizing on the investment so that it returns to you with sales and smooths out the situation.
