JUAN CARLOS GUERRA · Graphic Brand and Stationery

Juan Carlos Guerra is a professional costume designer and set designer from La Coruña who, throughout his extensive career, has worked for individuals as well as theater companies and as a visual merchandiser for the Zara brand. Concentrating all his efforts on opening his own workshop and the need to create his new brand, he entrusts us with the project.

GRAPHIC BRAND

Juan Carlos Guerra creates artistic clothing, tailors to measure, and designs sets; his main theme is theater. Therefore, we take this main concept and extract its iconic element: the double comedy and tragedy mask.

We apply this image to a thimble, a symbol of sewing, and with this combination of concepts, the icon is born.

CARD

The symbol created in the graphic brand also gives us a very interesting concept: duality. We have a medium that is inherently dual (front and back), and we take advantage of it to create the design. Thus, the front side is white with elements in black, representing the sad face; the back side is black with elements in white, representing the happy face. We split the icon in half and position it in the corner to reinforce the concept and encourage turning it: sad, happy, sad, happy.

The finish is a soft-touch matte laminate, with a soft and high-quality texture, featuring a UV3D effect that reflects light and adds volume to the overall design. We leverage the tactile sensation it generates to create the texture of the thimble, the needle, and the stitching. A result that is both tactile and visual.
